Michael Lease, M.S. OTR/L, C-MLD, CFPS

Occupational Therapist

Introducing Michael, the Clinic Rehab Director at Anchor Therapy Solutions. Originally from the vibrant landscapes of the South Florida region, he embarked on an academic journey that paved the way for his unique career. Graduating from Florida State University with dual bachelor degrees in Neuroscience and Sociology, he went on to earn a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

Michael's journey has been one of continuous growth and dedication. With a wealth of experience spanning many years, he has solidified his standing as a board-certified occupational therapist. His professional voyage has seen him contribute his expertise across a diverse array of clinical environments, including hospitals, acute care units, ICUs, in-patient rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, outpatient clinics, and even the sphere of home health care. Presently, he holds active occupational therapy licenses in two states, namely North Carolina and Pennsylvania, a testament to his commitment to expanding his reach and impact.

Michael's pursuit of excellence is reflected not only in his extensive experience but also in his fervor for continuous learning. He has diligently honed his skills through hands-on manual therapy, drawing insights from his years of evidence-based practice, collaborating with osteopaths, physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists and beyond. Moreover, his pursuit of knowledge has led him to obtain numerous certifications and accrue hundreds of continuing education hours. Notably, he has undergone advanced training to earn designations as a Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner (C-MLD), and a Certified Falls Prevention Specialist (CFPS).

Additionally, Michael plays a crucial role as our clinical instructor. He imparts his clinical skills to undergraduate, Master’s level and Doctoral level students, sharing his expertise and shaping the future of occupational therapy.

Michael's dedication goes beyond professional boundaries. His passion for quality care spans all ages, reflecting a life's purpose. Beyond his work, he finds joy in music, travel, cars, and maintaining his own well-being. Family time is paramount, as seen through moments spent with his three children.

Amy Connor, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Amy Connor earned her B.S. in Psychology and Occupational Therapy from College of Charleston and Medical University of South Carolina.  A native Charlestonian, she has lived on the beautiful southern coast of New Bern, N.C. since 2003.  She is currently the Founder and CEO of Hesed Place, a nonprofit organization focused on providing progressive growth-related resources and multifaceted Trauma-Informed Care to adults who have been severely abused as children.  Amy’s heart to pull community together on behalf of complex trauma survivors has evolved into a collaborative training model Hesed Place strives to implement here in New Bern and then in other communities around the world.  While also serving others in her OT profession, she finds great joy in the love of her family, friends, and beloved horse and cats. The beach is her most restful setting and her faith brings her the greatest peace.

Hali Ray

 

Hali Ray, COTA/L

Virtual Office Manager

Hali received her Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant degree from Pitt Community College in 2017. She is certified with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and licensed through the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy. She has completed fieldwork in a variety of settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation, Constraint Induced Movement Therapy, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric therapy, and acute care therapy. She spent the initial part of her career at VMC and has since been working in skilled nursing and most recently the Office Manager of Anchor Therapy Solutions. She has experience working with a variety of diagnoses and has a main focus in neurological disorders, physical dysfunction, and developmental delays. When Hali is not busy working, she loves to spend time with her family along with shopping online in her spare time!
